ASICS challenged Endurance Athlete, James Norbury, to run the entire 104 mile hikers trail, The Cotswold Way, in 4 days. 4 back to back marathons on a mix of paths and roads, through fields and forests and stopping off in quaint English countryside villages.
With a one man Swiss army knife crew, Alex Felstead, aka: support vehicle / videographer / photographer. James ran, walked and eventually hobbled his way into Bath after a disastrous knee injury.
“The project was exactly what I’d hoped it would be: first and foremost a challenge, an opportunity to push myself and explore that edge of physical exertion. I learnt a huge amount; about my next steps to progress as a runner but also a lot about the mind-body relationship and the immense reserves of energy and grit we can access when we need to. ”
“Mostly it was a wonderful reminder of the beautiful adventures that exist so close to home. It’s been a decade since I lived in the English West Country – 10 years of travelling and exploring all over the world: and yet it’s here in my most familiar place on earth that I felt the greatest feeling of freedom and adventure that I’ve felt in a long time.”
